how it all started

I started showing way back in the 70's, Adi was away most of the time being in the Royal Navy and I needed something to keep me out of trouble.

I started with German Shepherd Dogs as these were my first love, having done obedience with them.

I first started showing by accident, turning up at a ringcraft training class with a new puppy instead of an obdience training class, I was persuaded to show him, won my first rossette at my first show, & went on from there, I had a few successes so got 'bitten by the bug'.

After loosing a certain bitch who was my life, I could not contemplate another GSD, so turned to Akita's & Shiba's I also had some success in the ring with them, but did miss the obedience of the GSD

We met our first German Spitz at a show and were quite taken with them, these little dogs had such characters, and so trainable.

Thinking this would be the breed when we decided to down size (comes to all eventually) we watched the breed when we could for quite a few years, and did some research on them, liked what we found

the more we saw the more we realised this would be the breed for us.

We went to see a Shiba litter bred by Clare Andrew she also had a litter of German Spitz, that was it, fell in love with an orange boy & brought him home, a bit earlier than planned on having a G.S. but couldn't resist, that was 10 years ago

Tori, as he was known did a lot of winning getting BOB's, BP's & even winning groups, sadly at 8 months of age he was very badly frightened never to be shown again, he lives happily on a farm now away from any 'threats'.

our next German Spitz was a bitch Tegan, who Adi calls his 'tripe hound'  she worked like a collie and 'rounded up' any dogs she thought had gone to far away from us when out walking.

Next came a Klein called Printzagems Bill Double You, (Bill) bred by Tom & Jan Highmoor, Jan being in bad health at the time had to reduce her dogs so Bill came here at the age of 5 yrs old we campaigned him to his GB & Irish Title, now an old man but still going strong.

Adi has now retired from the R.N. so now can take a lot more interest & participation in showing our dogs, successfully showing Chandler to his title
